Regent Club Orchestra Free Music

Regent Club Orchestra

Effective period / Period of releases: 1925 - 1930

American studio orchestra that recorded for Brunswick between May 1925 and November 1931 with a focus on playing waltzes.

The Regent Club Orchestra had various directors over the years. The first was probably Gus Haenschen, followed by William Wirges (October 1926 until 1929), Louis Katzman (1930), Bob Haring (1931), Victor Young (1931) and Abe Lyman (1931). Contrary to some published claims, it was not a Bob Haring group for most of its existence.

In 1929 the name was also used on Cameo (3) and its subsidiary labels as a pseudonym for various orchestras, including those led by Bob Haring & Irving Mills.
