Phil Fitzpatrick
Philip Fitzpatrick was an Irish songwriter and poet born in Aughavas, Co Leitrim, Ireland in 1892 who emigrated to New York City in the early 1920s. Murdered by criminals in the course of an attempted arrest he was posthumously awarded the NYPD Medal of Honor.
Best known for writing the song 'Lovely Leitrim'. Brother of Nan Fitzpatrick.
