Effective period / Period of releases: 2011 - 2014

Members: Vladimir Konovkin, Bath Gremlin, Alexander Chuvakov

Kalutaliksuak was a Russian Avantgarde/Progressive/Psychedelic-Rock band whose name referred to the Esquimaux mythology and the malicious deity of Ice. The band was formed in Moscow in 1992 and remained active through 2018. The core members of the band were guitarist Alexander Chuvakov and keyboardist Vladimir Konovkin. They were accompanied on gigs by a variety of musicians from various backgrounds. In 2007, Chuvakov and Konovkin were joined by bassist Alexei Okhontsev and drummer Sergei Titivetz, and Kalutaliksuak stabilized as a four-piece band performing dark and complex avant-prog-psyche music with ominous vocalizations in a fictional language. This line-up was active until 2016 and recorded the most challenging and intriguing albums by Kalutaliksuak. On September 15, 2018 Vladimir Konovkin died after a short-term illness. Kalutaliksuak left quite a few unreleased recordings including their farewell studio album, live sets, album out-takes, and solo recordings by the band members.
