Real name: Наталья Петровна Кончаловская

Natalya Konchalovskaya (January 6 (19), 1903, Saint Petersburg – October 12, 1988, Moscow) was a Soviet children's writer, poet and translator.
Father - painter Pyotr Konchalovsky (1876-1956), brother - painter Mikhail Petrovich Konchalovsky, maternal grandfather - painter Vasily Surikov (1848-1916), mother - Olga Vasilievna Surikova (1878-1958).
In 1927, without the knowledge of her parents, she went to the United States with her lover - Alexei Alexeevich Bogdanov, a representative of Amtorg, a businessman. Bogdanov received a divorce from his first wife by telegraph and during a sea voyage from Yokohama to San Francisco, he married Konchalovskaya. Soon they separated, and returned to Russia separately. In this union, a daughter was born - Ekaterina Sergeevna Mikhalkova (by her stepfather, who adopted her; 1931-2019). Ekaterina's husband is the writer Yulian Semyonov = Юлиан Семенов (1931-1993). In 1936, Natalya Konchalovskaya married the aspiring children's writer Сергей Михалков (1913-2009). The family had two sons, Andrei Konchalovsky (born 1937) and Никита Михалков (born 1945), who became famous film directors.
