Australian singer from Melbourne. Started his career as lead singer of Melbourne rock'n'roll band The Checkmates from 1961-63. His trademark was his outlandish bouffant hairdo which he was eventually obliged to trim back after hundreds of letters of complaint from TV viewers. Following his music career he worked in promotions with a major Melbourne department store.
