Started in Houston, Texas by Aaron Ivey who was then a youth pastor, the core of Spur58’s members belonged to Ivey’s youth group or were former college classmates: Chad Martin, Steven Bush and Jimmie Ingram. In 2003 Spur58 moved to Murfreesboro, TN. There, they came across Nashville drummer Guy Roberts who joined the band in 2006 and has continued to record with Ivey on other projects.

The band traveled across the country doing as many as 200 live performances per year.
