(born February 5, 1924 in Zwiesel, † February 1, 2013 in Bad Kötzting) was one of the most famous folk musicians of the Bavarian Forest. He played his first concerts on the accordion at the age of five. With his brother Xaver Stoiber (trumpet) he often played together as Stoiber Buam. He composed over 150 pieces, written down by his friend and fellow musician Franz Zimmerer, as Stoiber had never learned to read music sheets.
