The story begins with Gianluca and Stefano watching TV in their London flat in 2001..It's 2 a.m. and they do not know that the title of the film they are wayching is ''Il Paramedico'' (starring Enrico Montesano). They are also unaware that their life is about to change forever, when a lawyer called Generoso Gallina (interpreted by Enzo Cannavale) enters the scene. Generoso Gallina is funny, clever and is happy to defend the protagonist, but he is even happier to go for lunch as soon as he realizes that it is noon!
Gianluca and Stefano agree that if they ever start up a band they willl call it Generoso Gallina as a tribute to whoever conceived this genius name.
On returning to Rome, their idea comes true: Giovanni, a brilliant psychedelic-noise guitarist, and Antonello, moican sporting drummer, join the band and the group quickly start writing songs which mix noise, post punk and new wave.
The response at their live shows is good but Stefano and Antonello leave the band after a while. ..Alessandro Blasi initially, and Fabio Lanza later, substitue Antonello on drums; Alessandro Bonanni becomes the new bass player.
Generoso Gallina appear on 3 compilations: Soniche Avventure IX (Fridge Rec), 15 Italian Dishes (Raving Records), Fragments (Psychotica Rec).
They also record a 5 track self titled EP.
Generoso Gallina call it a day in 2004 but something surprising might be about to happen, so stay tuned!
