Aristodemo Sillich

Aristodemo Sillich was an Italian Opera Bass vocalist.

He was born to a Slavic family in Trieste, Austria (now Italy) in1858.

He took a vocal lessons from H. Friedrich in Trieste and made his debut in 1876 at the Teatro Verdi in Trieste. In 1887 he appeared at the Teatro Verdi in Pisa in Bellini’s ‘’La Sonnambula’’. In 1888 he sang at La Scala in the premiere of the opera ‘’'Nestorio’’ of Gallignani. In 1889 he performed at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples; He had his biggest success in Poland, where he guested in 1890 for the first time at the Teatro Imperiale in concert. He sang in Warsaw till 1903. He sang in Warsaw his roles in Italian language, as well as in Polish. In 1903 he left Warsaw and returned to Trieste and in 1915 he finished his stage career. His son Jerzy Sillich was a conductor and worked at Polish theaters where he still appeared after the second World War in Bytom (Beuthen) and Wroclaw (Wroclaw).

He died in 1943.
