Eduard Flipse

Eduard Flipse (1896–1973) was a Dutch conductor and composer, principal conductor of the Rotterdams Philharmonisch Orkest (1930–1962) and Royal Flemish Philharmonic (1961–70). He arranged the chorus for the debut performance of Belshazzar's Feast cantata by Sir William Walton in the Netherlands and became the first Dutch conductor to play Stravinsky's Rite of Spring and Violin Concerto by Alban Berg. Flipse joined the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra as the second conductor in 1927.
