Wanya is from Bulgaria. Her mother was a well-known folk singer there. Wanya completed a dance and singing training at the Georgi Dimitrov Art School in her hometown of Sofia.
After she had performed in almost all music metropolises of the former Eastern Bloc, she came to West-Germany and made her first German recordings for TWR Records.
Then she was discovered by Heinz Gietz and he signed her for his label "Cornet".She lives in the the Saarland region, often working together with Jürgen Wolter.
