Swedish composer, harmony teacher and church musician, born 30 June 1910 in Hudiksvall, died 10 July 1993 in Stockholm

He was active for many years as organist in Engelbrekt's congregation in Stockholm, first in Hjorthagskyrkan and then in Engelbrektskyrkan itself from 1955-77. In parallel with this, he was a teacher of harmony at the Academy of Music in Stockholm 1949-76 (with professor's name from 1964).

The music he composed is fundamentally highly romantic, but with significant contrapuntal elements. There are a large number of organ works here, many of them chorale bound.

His son, Staffan Lindroth followed in his father's footsteps in musical life as a conductor and choirmaster.
