Colony was born in St. Louis in the fall of 1989 when Ted Bruner, lead singer and guitarist, and drummer/back-up vocalist, Matt Hickenbotham. came together.After the two moved to the University of Missouri-Columbia, bassist John Stuller joined the band. Jon Armstrong, lead guitarist and back-up vocalist, became the newest member of Colony in November 1994.
