Born 13 February 1914 in San Bernardino, California, USA.
Died 28 July 1982 in New York City, New York, USA.
He is most known for children's compositions, Broadway scores, and film/television scores. He was the composer of the 1945 song "Tubby the Tuba", a piece of classical music for children (lyrics by Paul Tripp).
Educated at New York University (Bachelor of Science), and in private music study.
