Shrinebuilder

Effective period / Period of releases: 2009 - 2011

Members: Scott Kelly, Dale Crover, Al Cisneros, Scott Weinrich

Something of a stoner/doom metal supergroup, Shrinebuilder consists of Scott Weinrich, aka Wino (2) (Saint Vitus, ex-Obsessed, ex-The Hidden Hand) on guitar and vocals, Scott Kelly (Neurosis) on guitar and vocals, Al Cisneros (OM (8), Sleep) on bass and vocals, and Dale Crover (Melvins) on drums. Rumors of the project dated back to 2007, when Wino made mention of it in his annoucement of The Hidden Hand's break-up. The band was intially set to include Cisneros' OM and Sleep rhythm section partner, Chris Hakius, on drums. However, when Chris departed OM, his participation in Shrinebuilder also ceased and he was eventually replaced by Dale Crover. In 2009, the group finally made their way into the recording studio and released their long-awaited self-titled debut in the Fall of 2009 on Neurot Recordings.
