British conductor - orchestra leader - viola player. Born on 31 August 1911 - Died on 8 August 1979.
He joined the Philharmonia Orchestra in 1947 as viola player. He formed his own band, Michael Freedman And His Orchestra in 1949 and Michael Freedman Ladies' Orchestra in 1956 (both light music orchestras). He left the music business and started a new career as a London taxi driver (late 1960s/early 1970s ?).
