Toxic Shock

Members: Tom Watson, Scott Ziegler, Steve Anderson (3)

Band from Manhattan Beach, CA, who would evolve into Slovenly, consisting of Steve Anderson, Scott Ziegler, Tom Watson and Bruce Loosen.

Steve Anderson, Scott Ziegler and Bruce Loosen played in a minimal punk band called the Convalescence, along with Crusty on bass. Tom Watson replaced Crusty and the members renamed themselves Toxic Shock. They played house parties and some shows in San Pedro with bands like Saccharine Trust, the Disposals, the Chiefs, Minutemen, etc.. The Urinals invited them to add one of two songs they recorded, "Sensationalism," to their compilation "Keats Rides A Harley". The CD re-release of this compilation contained the second song recordr, "Fat".

After graduation from high school, they began evolvnig into Slovenly in 1980.
