Viktor Widqvist
Real name: Viktor Magnus Widkvist
Swedish military musician and composer, born December 27, 1881 in Stockholm, died December 22, 1952 in Bromma.He was 1898-1918 tuba player at Svea Ingenjörkår's music corps in Stockholm and also violinist at a theater orchestra. He graduated as music director from the Stockholm Conservatory of Music in 1908. During the period 1918-25, he was music director at the engineering troops, first in Boden and then in Karlsborg. He then left military music and worked as a civilian musician and orchestra leader in Stockholm.
He is known for having composed a large number of marches, the most famous of which is probably Under "Under blågul fana". Other marches include "Mälardrottningen", "Norrlandsfärger", "Chefsmarsch", "Fladdrande fanor" and "Bodens ingenjörskårs marsch".
