The Montereys
The Montereys is a Garage Rock style band that played from around 1959 to 1966 in the Midwestern U.S.A. The members where from Winneconne, Wisconsin and their music was published on the Cuca Records label in Sauk City, Wisconsin. The band originally consisted of Orville Luebke as Rhythm Guitar, Russ Hoger as Bass Guitar, and Wes Phillips as Lead Guitar. Later Don "Pudge" Pinnow would join to play Drums and Jimmy Thiele would join to play the Piano and the Organ and Kenny Loehrke would join as a Vocalist. The band typically played at various establishments in the Winnebago County area. Later into the bands life Wes would leave the band, giving the role of Lead Guitar to Orville. Kenny would also end up leaving, giving Orville the Vocalist role for the rest of the bands life. The band would only make two records. Those being Rockin' Fool/Rocker in 1962 and and Swamp Girl/Whiplash in 1963. Russ Hoger passed away June 5, 2021, and "Pudge" Pinnow died at an Unkown date. Jimmy, Wes, and Orville are still alive as of July 17, 2023.
