Bellaphon

Effective period / Period of releases: 1987

Members: Masahiro Torigaki, Mitsutaka Kaki, Taiqui, Tohru Ohta, Toshihiro Tanaka

Japanese instrumental neo-progressive rock band founded in Kyoto, Japan in 1981, who delivers a symphonic / melodic music, highly influenced by Camel, but some fusion passages can be found as well. Disbanded in 1988 and reformed in 1999.

The band included Toshihiro Tanaka (guitar), Mitsutaka Kaki (keyboards) who served time on the prog band Ain Soph, Masahiro Torigaki (bass) and Taiqui (drums). Keyboardist Mitsutaka Kaki is trying to keep the band alive currently, playing shows mainly, but as he states, this is a side occupation of the band members who are all doing this along their day jobs.
