Edgar Courance

American jazz tenor saxophonist and clarinetist, nickname "Spider", born 1903 or 1904 in Cincinnati, Ohio, died October 12, 1969 in New York City, New York.
Courance played with Tiny Bradshaw in 1934. In September 1935 traveled with Freddy Taylor to France, where he recorded with Bill Coleman (2) in 1936, played with Oscar Aleman in 1937, went to Egypt with Coleman in 1938. Returned to New York 1940. Regularly played with Wingy Carpenter during the 1950s, but was forced to quit playing after a heart attack in 1966.
