Rachel Barton Pine (b. 11 October 1974, Chicago) is an American violinist. She studied with Roland and Almita Vamos at the Music Institute Of Chicago and debuted with The Chicago Symphony Orchestra at age ten. In 1992, Rachel won the gold medal at the prestigious "International Johann Sebastian Bach Competition," becoming the first American and the youngest-ever contest winner. Pine plays on the precious 1742 violin by Guarneri Del Gesu (ex-Bazzini (1818—1897) and ex-Marie Soldat (1863—1955), given to her on a lifetime loan by an anonymous collector in 2002).

Between February 2009 and 2014, Rachel Barton Pine was a member of the thrash/doom metal band Earthen Grave, playing on a 6-string Viper electric violin. She recorded on the debut EP and the band's sole studio album and performed live with Earthen Grave, sharing the stage with many prominent metal acts, including Pentagram, Black Label Society, Mayhem, and Nachtmystium.
