The first ever higher educational institution of vocal and choral art - the Academy of Choral Art - was established in 1991 on the basis of the Moscow Choir School named after A.V. Sveshnikov (1890-1980).In 2009, the Academy was named after its founder - an outstanding conductor-choirmaster, People's Artist of the USSR, Professor Victor Popov (1934−2008).
The Choir of the Academy constantly maintains its high professional rating.
The combined choir of the Academy (about 200 singers) includes a boys' choir (7-14 years old), a boys' choir (16-18 years old), chamber student course choirs (boys and girls 18-25 years old) and a male choir, where, in addition to students , former pupils of the School and the Academy also sing.
