Los Angeles-based band managed by Warren Entner, formerly of the Grass Roots and signed to Robert Stigwood's RSO Records.The band was fronted by Brian Naughton, formerly with Rock Candy (MGM), and later versions of the Peanut Butter Conspiracy and the Grass Roots. The band also featured Sammy Pate of the Atlanta-based Cisco with famed luthier Grover Jackson, and drummer Rick Altschuler, formerly with the band of Ruby Starr, she formerly of Black Oak Arkansas. Rockicks' co-lead guitarist, lyricist and singer Jerry Zubal was formerly with the Ed "Punch" Andrews-managed Tea; as 1776, they released one album on Andrews's Palladium, which issued Bob Seger's early recordings.
