Swami Sivananda Radha

The first western woman to become a sanyasin, Swami Sivananda Radha was born Ursula Sylvia Hellman on 3/20/1911 in Berlin. She was a disciple of Swami Sivananda and extensively presented Hindu and Yogic teachings in Canada, where she had emigrated in 1951; in the 1980s, she also established centers throughout the rest of North America.
