Melina Karakosta was a Greek bassist, vocalist, composer, author, and translator. Born in 1959 in Paris, France - Died 30 October 2007 in Athens, Greece.
She studied Chinese and Italian literature at La Sorbonne, while at the same time studying music (double bass and composition). She participated in concerts and recorded records of modern and jazz music. From 1987, she was involved in teaching and staged musical performances with children. She wrote children's books and translated French and Italian literature.
