Marcel Moyse

Marcel Moyse (17 May 1889, St. Amour, France — 1 November 1984, Brattleboro, Vermont, USA) was a French flutist, conductor, and music educator; father of Louis Moyse. He studied at Paris Conservatory with Philippe Gaubert, Adolphe Hennebains, and Claude-Paul Taffanel. Moyse was one of the co-founders of the Marlboro Music Festival and taught on the faculty of the Conservatoire de musique du Québec à Montréal in Canada.
