Roland Penrose
Real name: Roland Algernon Penrose
English painter and poet, born October 14, 1900 in London, England and died April 23, 1984 in Chiddingly, England.Son of James Doyle Penrose and brother of Lionel Penrose. In 1922 he travelled to Paris to study painting and there became friends with Picasso, Eluard and Ernst. Penrose introduced Britain to Surrealism on his return in 1935. His second wife was Lee Miller.
