Paul Fenoulhet

Jazz trumpeter, trombonist, cello player, and band leader. Born: May, 1906 in London, UK Died: December 29, 1979 (age 73) in Ipswich, Suffolk, England, UK.Fenoulhet conducted The Skyrockets Dance Orchestra in the 1940s and the BBC's lighter orchestras during the 1950s-60s. He arranged prolifically and composed novelty "mood" pieces and a concert suite, "Suffolk Sketches". Married to Doreen Lundy.
Earlier in his career, he toured with Jack Hylton (whom he also arranged for) and spent nine years at the Savoy with Carroll Gibbons. He was conductor of the Number One Balloon Barrage Centre Orchestra during the War. After the war, he joined the BBC as Musical Director of the BBC Variety Orchestra.
