Maikal X is an alias of Michael Parkinson, a Dutch MC from Haarlem, North Holland, the Netherlands of Curaçao and Guyanese descent, performing reggae, dancehall and dub. Known Primarily as MC Shyrock of Dutch hip-hop outfits Amo Lab, Committee Gunmen and hip-hop/reggae outfit The Postmen, Maikal X chose the new alias to explore his Caribbean roots, culture and heritage concentrating on roots and dancehall music, slightly swaying from his hip-hop background.
