Michael Peters

Real name: Michael Peters

Started playing guitar in the early 1970s, mostly playing in open improvisation bands. In the 1980s, he started using tape loops, played in new age, punk, and rock bands, open improvisation orchestras, and took some guitar craft lessons from Robert Fripp who has always been his favorite guitarist. In the 1990s, he played with a cover band and a guitar craft inspired ensemble. Since 2000 he mostly played with avant rock and open improv bands again.
He has always used electronics and strange devices to make his guitar sound unusual, and loop delays, field recordings, and computers (especially granular synthesis) to construct soundscapes or unusual pieces of solo music. Most of his music is improvised.
