Gera Samba is a Brazilian band from Salvador, Bahia. The band was formed in 1992 with nine members as Grupo Gera. The name Gera Samba was originally the title of the first album. The group went through style and lineup changes, with Terra Samba being a splinter created by 2 of the original members. In 1996 again the title of an album caused the third and final name change, when they became known as É O Tchan
