Joan Weber

Effective period / Period of releases: 1954 - 1957

American pop music vocalist.
Born December 12, 1935 Paulsboro, New Jersey.
Died May 13, 1981.
She is best known for her million-selling 1955 hit single, "Let Me Go Lover" (originally entitled " Let Me Go, Devil"). The song stayed at #1 in the U.S. charts for four weeks in early 1955 (and #16 in the U.K.), despite competition from rival versions by, among others, Teresa Brewer, Sunny Gale, and Patti Page. She released a further six singles up to the spring of 1957, but none dented the Hot 100. Joan Weber subsequently left the music business and worked in a variety of jobs.
