Group formed in 1972 by Al Vollmer with the purpose to give veteran musicians of the 1920s and 1930s living in New York who were inactive as performers opportunities to perform.The appointed leader was Clyde Bernhardt. From 1980 the group was led by Bobby Williams (6). The group toured Europe annually from 1976.
