Purba is a musical and theatre project formed in Moscow in 1996. Their music is based upon the ancient sacral ceremonies of the Bon tradition (the pre-Buddhist religion of Tibet) and the four schools of Tibetan Buddhism. The musicians play authentic Tibetan traditional instruments, use overtone singing as well as musique concrete, noise, electronic, drone, industrial and ritual performance.
