Czech composer of classical music.

Born December 30, 1859 in Prague. Died May 29, 1951 in Nový Vestec. Grand uncle of Luboš Sluka. He is often referred to as J. B. Foerster. Foerster wrote around 200 works, among them 5 symphonies, 6 extent choral works (predominantly masses) and numerous orchestral, concertant and chamber compositions. His music is considered very subjective and personal, mystical and idealistic.
