The Gospel Sons
Members: Stan Kirschenmann, Terry Vander Stoep, Don Smith (8), Dave Capron, Wayne Eirish, Tom Streiber, Ron Williams (39)
Tillamook, Oregon based Southern Gospel quartet.The band came together in October 1968 while they were students at Nampa, Idaho's Northwest Nazarene College.
The group was made up of Stan Kirschenmann on baritone vocals; Don Smith, lead vocals; and Terry Vander Stoep on tenor vocals; Don Door, vocals, Jerry Watson, bass vocals; and Dave Capron on baritone and vocals as well as numerous instruments from piano and bass to flute and harmonica. Bobbi Kay Kirshbaum later replaced Dave Capron and did vocals and piano.
In 2010, after not singing together for 9 years, the Sons were asked to sing as a favor for a woman's 90th birthday wish. The group got back together and recorded, now as "The Classic Gospel Sons". There were additonal members during the course of their 50+ year run.
