US funk/soul group from Jackson, Mississippi. A few group members were part of the “Sonic Boom Of The South”, Jackson University’s marching band. They started to perform in Jackson State as “The Family”, because of their brotherly bond. After some time they continued as “Wynd Chymes”, in order to add more mystique to the group’s new name. Wynd Chymes eventually got noticed by RCA Records, which resulted in a record deal for two albums and various singles.
