Blues singer and harmonica player, born July 4, 1944, in Bogalusa, Louisiana.Nelson moved to Gary, Indiana, in 1959, playing in Chicago clubs in the 1960s. In 1965 he formed a band in Boston with Luther Johnson. After Johnson's death in 1976, Nelson relocated to Atlanta, Georgia.
