Seamus Tansey

Irish traditional musician who played the flute and tin whistle. He was born in 1943 and he took up the tin whistle first in 1961.He won the All-Ireland Fleadh in Thurles in 1965 and he recorded five albums, one with Eddie Corcoran, and had a big influence on succeeding generations of flute players.
Tansey is one of the references of the “Sligo Style” in Irish flute playing.
