Total Defekt was formed around 1983 in Hamburg and started as a rock-band with punk influences. The style changed more and more to melodic Punk-Rock in the course of time. There were lots of line-up changes in the early days of the band. Total Defekt played a couple of shows, did Studio recordings, made many many songs and split up in 1986. In 1989 the band reformed by the late guitar player Dauxi and the singer and founding member Hodzy. Then their style includes a bit metal / hardcore influences, but still was melodic punk at its core. Again they made many many songs, went to a studio couple of times, played quite a lot of shows, released a handfull of tapes + one cd. This quartet had the most stable line-up. Soon after there was a change in the line-up, the band eventually split up in the late nineties.
