Pieter Verlinden

Pieter Verlinden was born on July 9, 1934 in Mechelen (Belgium) and died on September 25, 2002 in Belgium. He was a Belgian composer and arranger for mostly soundtrack music (tv, film & theatre) who also worked as sonorisator for the BRT / VRT (Belgian state television in Flanders). Having studied music in Antwerp and in Brussels, he used to play alt violin for the Belgian National Orchestra for 4 years and toured with the "Solisten van Brussel" chamber orchestra for 10 years. During his carreer he has received best composer awards at the Antwerp Film Festival. In 1985 he contributed to Belgium's Eurovision contest entry by Linda Lepomme - Laat Me Nu Gaan which didn't become a success. Though only a handful were released, he actually wrote "hundreds of scores and soundtracks for television, ballet, theatre and film".
