British music hall performer and minstrel black impersonator, November 1882–19 November 1962. Often billed as "The Original Chocolate Coloured Coon", even enscribed on his gravestone in Rottingdean, Brighton, where he retired to. He performed at 3 Royal Variety Performances, was subject of BBC biographical show "This Is Your Life" in 1957 and made over 100 record from the early 20th century
