Real name: Claire LaCoss née Hogan

Jazz and pop singer, nicknamed "Shanty"

Hogan's career started with a “Sing a Song With Johnny Long” contest win in Cleveland in 1944. She performed and recorded with Boyd Raeburn, Johnny Bothwell, Jimmy Dorsey, Charlie Teagarden, and briefly with Count Basie and Gene Krupa. She eventually gave up singing for a regular job.
