Official name of the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra (affiliated with the Hesse Broadcaster Hessischer Rundfunk) from 17 October 1950 until 1971. It was renamed to Radio-Sinfonie-Orchester Frankfurt in 1971 and to hr-Sinfonieorchester in 2005.Chief conductors:
