Shannon Grayson
Real name: Shannon Howard Grayson
Born: September 30, 1916 - Died: May 10, 1993. American country - bluegrass musician (banjo). Described by The Briarhoppers' Roy Grant (3) as "our first and best banjo player." Charles Crutchfield called him, "that tall drink of water" and "one of the nation's top five-string banjo players. Shannon joined the Briarhoppers in 1942-43 and continued to perform until shortly before his death. Shannon Grayson & His Golden Valley Boys, a bluegrass/gospel band, recorded many records.
