Gargoyle's stage costumes are often designed to portray the band members as being hundreds of years old (the costumes take imagery from ancient cultures and outdated societies). Gargoyle sometimes tour as "Battle Gargoyle". Under this name they only play fast thrash songs and material from Battle Gargoyle releases. Battle Gargoyle played their first gig at Shibuya On-Air West in Tokyo on July 26, 1997.Gargoyle dub their style of thrash the "Mysterious Guerilla Sound". The band owns a bar called G-Ark in the Kabukicho district of Shinjuku, Tokyo where the band members act as hosts.
