Born in Vienna, he specialized in playing piano with Fritz Pauer, he also joined him in the ORF Big Band. In 1982 he started to play with Paul Gulda, which a gave a successful duo.He focused on classic and jazz, won several competions and got the title "Professor" for his musical achivements.
