Real name: Leif Sylvester Petersen

Danish musician, variety-artist, actor and painter, b. 1940 in Copenhagen. Teamed up with Erik Clausen in the 60's performing political, cirkus-like street theater. Both became part of the theatrical and musical collective Røde Mor in the early 70's and in the late 70's as Clausen & Petersen the two transformed their collaboration and characters to film and records, e.g. the movie "Circus Casablanca". With Sylvester & Svalerne he recreates the schlager tradition. In the recent years he's become an recognized painter and sculpturer.
Born Leif Petersen, to avoid being taken for the danish writer of the same name, at a time he took his stage name "Sylvester" as his official middle name.
