German accordionist, arranger, bandleader and music teacher, born 18 January 1924 and died 16 June 2014 in Empfingen, Germany.
In 1945 Hubert Deuringer started as an accordionist with “Radio Stuttgart”. In 1947 he moved to the newly founded Südwestfunk (SWF) in Baden-Baden and just a year later he led the SWF's dance string orchestra. He had exclusive contracts with TELDEC, Polydor and Herkules Records. Deuringer appeared in numerous television programs in the 1950s and 1960s as a soloist and orchestra leader. He also was a lecturer in accordion stylistics and improvisation at the Hohner Conservatory in Trossingen. In 1964 he received the Hermann Schittenhelm Medal for his services to folk music.
